We use IBM MaaS360 for managing and protecting our end points such as mobile devices, laptops, desktops and some apps.

One of the use case is mobile metrics
we get a picture on number of devices on a given platform
  • Defends against phishing
  • MIM attacks
  • Content and app based threats
  • BYOD (bring your own device) initiative
  • Turn around time from Admin
  • Screen shot capabilities are not available
  • Integration capabilities with other providers
It is very well suitable for device management, identity management, content, mobile threat management. Also App security, granular patch management, Risk management, OS VPN, Dashboards, policy recommendations,Secure browser, it also has simple interface to manage. Pricing wise interms of per user/month I believe it is lot better than google.

We are both a mobility reseller and a security consultancy for a large number of organizations. Specific to security, our customers have a wide list of mobile device usage requirements which present a vast array of security concerns as it relates to the protection of IP, Regulatory compliance, and control of business-focused usage during the work day.
As such, it is our job to present resolutions to these challenges, which are addressed both by written policy and the implementation of an MDM solution.
  • Properly configured workflows make for easy ongoing management and tweaks to the management of enrolled mobile devices
  • Granular functionality which can be used to address many complex configuration requirements
  • Best in Class support and product education resources by comparison to competing MDM solutions.
  • In dashboard help verbiage
  • Simpler customization for white label items
  • Better support for windows o/s devices
There are very few scenarios where the solution is less suited. However, if an organization is device-specific with just iOS Devices, there are other less complex solutions available if the said organization has basic security requirements.
Any organization looking for a well-organized granular solution will find IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson to be the perfect fit. Having worked for a different MDM Vendor in the past, it is very clear that this solution not only provides the levels of granularity needed to address numerous security requirements, the level and quality of support behind the curtain are outstanding.

We use IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson to manage our company iPad's. This allows us to manage every aspect of the device. We are able to centralize the deployment of apps to the devices. Users no longer need to keep up with Apple ID credentials. We can track devices if they are lost and wipe them if needed.
  • App Management
  • Deployment features
  • Ease of use.
  • Can be cost prohibitive
  • Interface can be cumbersome at first
For organizations with strict security and compliance requirements, IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson provides comprehensive security features such as mobile threat defense, secure containerization, and app distribution controls. This makes it well-suited for organizations that require strict security and compliance controls. Organizations with limited budget may find that IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is a premium solution that may not be suitable for their limited budgets. There are other MDM solutions available that may be more affordable for such organizations.

IBM Security MaaS360 with Watson is a very user-friendly and solid platform that offers a great user-friendly UI, it's cloud-based and enables us to manage all our corporate devices including all the iPads are managed pretty seamlessly. It's easy to install and update while content management is perfect and increases mobile security and threat management while also providing excellent information about devices and security measures.
  • Highly secured. Increases security on all our organization devices including iPads.
  • Watson integration is great.
  • The UI is great and very user friendly while also the dashboard are pretty easy to use by anyone.
  • Ability to control mobile devices in various platforms.
  • Improve the online documentation.
  • Refresh data should not be limited to only 3 and each refresh after 24 hours.
I would definitely recommend this tool because it's been fantastic, and easy to use UI is easy to customize, and navigate through the portal, and switch between portals easily. It makes the management of multiple devices in my organization a breeze by offering security features that increase security against any cybercrime and threats hence we operate smoothly.

It has been a reliable MDM solution in our organization and it has greatly provided stability features that need to keep our organization running smoothly. Also, it has provided great security in our organization since it is protecting us from any threat on the internet. It's very helpful during implementation and in all troubleshooting experiences.
  • I like it's functionality and pricing
  • It's secure and robust identify management platform
  • It's very simple since its not complicated even to it's first user's
  • It's content management is centralized
  • Sometimes it's difficult to find online portal in the settings
I like how it ensures that we meet our security standards. It is very easy to learn and highly trainable. It supports multiple platforms.

We use MaaS360 mainly in our operations department which consists of people in the field almost all work day. We decided to go with it to solve the issue of people using their own iPads on job sites then having work info on the device when leaving the company. In addition it solves the issue of people handing in company iPads with personal Apple passwords on them making them virtually impossible to unlock and use.
  • Their on-boarding program is sensational and it really helps you get up to speed on the use of the software.
  • The portal used to manage the devices and settings is professionally designed and runs very smoothly.
  • IBM goes out of their way to provide help and documentation for the period after on-boarding.
  • In using it for 6-8 months I have found no issues with the workability of the functions that can be run on the tablets and phones.
  • The website has oh-so-many options that it can be overwhelming when it comes to finding the option or policy you want.
  • After log-in they have a "Dashboard" web page that shows you important info about your devices but many of the errors do not have the appropriate links to rectify them.
  • Their process to wipe an iPad could be better. Post-wipe it still shows up in the list of devices as waiting for something to happen to it so it can be a bit confusing.
MaaS360 is suited well both for small shops and some medium-sized shops where the goal is to mostly manage company-run devices. Its smooth running web portal makes changing items happen quickly and for the most part, except for wiping machines, most items flow smoothly and make sense. The ease of use is good for the smaller shops that do not have a lot of time to spending on training. Conversely I am not sure MaaS360 is a great choice for large shops or shops that intend on having a lot of BYOD users. To use it effectively you have to request the user go into the MaaS360 app and agree to some items and that is not always an easy task with BYOD.

We managed a MaaS360 implementation for one of our IT Managed Services clients who are in the healthcare industry. They used it only as an MDM solution for iOS devices and wanted to encrypt email data. They also used it as a security control of their iPhone fleet to enforce compliance across all devices.
  • Policies were easy to create and maintain.
  • Pushing out settings was quick and easy.
  • Encryption on the device was great.
  • Working with Apple DEP was a big challenge.
  • The enrollment process was difficult for many users.
  • Many of the settings in the online portal were difficult to find.
I think MaaS360 was a great cost-effective MDM solution compared to other services I've used in the past. Our client moved away from Good for Enterprise to MaaS360 and found significant cost savings. It also fills the need for compliant MDM as it offers remote wipe, data encryption, and enforceable security controls.

MaaS360 was used as our organizational MDM for some time before deploying another solution. MaaS360 was used for our Work at Home force to keep all company devices managed and configured for end users. Business problems-wise, this solved several issues we required as far as locking the machine for transit and verifying the device had been unlocked and reporting back to us.
  • End user ease of use and silent operation
  • Admin interface is clean
  • Device reporting
  • Admin management and customization
  • Searching web portal for computer information
  • Sending remote commands could sometimes take hours or not send at all
If you are managing a small fleet of local computers MaaS360 will work well to suit your needs. However, if you are working with a large fleet with remote users the program begins to not be as efficient for your needs as it could be. From my experience working with over 1000 Macs this solution was not up to the tasks at hand.
